In this world of technology, I’ve come to ask myself the age old question: “Should we forget the old for the new, or should we hold fast to the way things are?” The way I see people living their lives in recent years; computers, electric cars, cell phones, these, possessions, are all becoming more of daily necessities. But… Do I ask: “Do we actually need them?” Many students, adults, even children I have seen recently, have replaced the library with Google, replaced going out with friends with video chatting, and even an adult I have seen, put a 89′ Z 28 Camaro into a garage, covered, and bought a little Smart Car. While technology and life as I know it, is advancing, becoming easier, I myself am all for it, to a point. Though being 26 and all about computers, I’d still rather have my friends by my side and go out on a Friday night drive, and very… VERY rarely go to the library and get a good book. So should we, myself included, replace the old with the new–in moderation.
If the shower heads starts telling me, “You’ve been in the tub (x amount of time) and you need to get out,” then turns itself off, now I might have a situation…. involving a hammer.
